Then the Disk Utility stops and gives me the final message: Disk Utility can’t repair this disk.
I then click on initialize which takes me to the Disk Utility.
I have tried using the Disk Utility (as the hard drive shows up in the left bar), but haven't been successful.
Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.
Now, I would LOVE to back up my files - I just don't know how to access them if my computer can't read them.
Please, please, please can someone help me with some good advice??? I am really hoping for some good news that I can get all my photos off this hard drive - I really don't care if I can't use the hard drive itself again, I just want all my beautiful memories back!!
I am in DESPERATE need of help with my Mac specific WD Passport hard drive.
If I click on "verify" - it says that the disk needs to be repaired.
When I click on "repair", it gives me the following details: Verify and Repair volume “disk1s3” Checking file system Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
I have changed the USB cable - and still no change.
I can hear the hard drive firing up, but after a while it just stops completely.
), I moved my Mac Book slightly and the hard drive disconnected briefly (during the upload).Now every time I connect the hard drive, an error message appears saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer".
