Length of dating and success of marriage

This is of course very different to the West where emphasis is put on choosing your partner yourself, and on going through a period of dating different potential partners while choosing the person you are going to marry.Of course in some cases Eastern men and women will go against their traditions and decide to marry outside of their religion, just as in some cases Western men and women will decide not to.Others, such as areas in Egypt, will require their women to walk behind their men, and to keep their skin covered when going out.One particular difficulty with dating between East and West is that many Eastern countries have a tradition of wanting their children to marry either within their race or within their religion.Hindus for example will want their children to marry other Hindus.Countries such as India and Pakistan can sometimes narrow this further by having arranged marriages meaning that the individual has no choice at all regarding who they marry. These individuals however will often still choose to date people from other cultures and those that they are not arranged to marry, however if they intend to fulfil their family's wishes then these relationships will be unable to go anywhere and will not end in marriage. This of course will vary from country to country and also for individual couples with beliefs and opinions on the matter changing drastically.

Dating between cultures can be a fantastic opportunity to date someone from what can seem like another world, to learn the beauty of another culture, and to share your own with them.At the same time, sometimes you just love someone from another culture, and despite your differences you know you want to be with them.
