Kaspersky database not updating
I've run a full scan and there are no threats detected. NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help Hello, I've been having issues with my computer for a while.
It started out with a virus that "scanned" my computer for an infection, and of course my wife hits "OK".
An expired subscription is one common cause, but also look into your Internet connection and potential software conflicts.

I had thought i cleaned that up, then I had the "The FBI has locked your computer" for whatever reason, and I had cleaned that up...
Hi, I keep getting a message on my Kaspersky application that the databases are extremely out of date.
However each time I try to update it tells me "failed to start database update task".
I don't understand why I keep getting this message, because I can see green ticks beside -Licence in effect -No active threats detected -All potential components are running Also my subscription has 898 days remaining and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software yet the problem persists. Can you tell us what version of Kaspersky you have as it sounds like you missed a program update or two?
Kaspersky bills itself as one of the strongest anti-virus software programs available, but if you can't download the automatic database updates from Kaspersky, you won't be able to protect your computer from threats like viruses and malicious software.
This can be a downward spiral, since an outdated database makes your computer more vulnerable to attack from new viruses or malware, which can further prevent you from downloading new updates from Kaspersky.
I keep getting the error code 2688679940 and it tells me network failure while downloading updates. I should have thought of that, the Malware could have been preventing the update.
I tried using a different network connection but its still the same problem. I used a free version of Malwarebytes anti-malware to scan my system. I restarted my system and Kaspersky has updated, seems to be working fine. Why not have the system checked in our Malware forum by the pros to be certain you got it all.
