Companies import these fertilizers as per their commercial judgment.The quantity of the imported fertilizers during last year and current year is as given below:- (Qty.During last 2 years various development activities were carried out in 16 villages during FY 2012-13 and in 19 villages during FY 2013-14 and the details are attached as Annexure-A-I.Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state: (a) the number of plants/units of Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in the country along with the production and demand of urea and DAP in the country; (b) whether the Government proposes to import fertilizers in order to meet the requirement in the country and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether the Government also proposes to formulate any scheme for the development of villages located in the surrounding areas of IFFCO factories:; (d) if so, the details thereof and the number of villages developed by IFFCO including Phoolpur district of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh ; and (e) if not, the reasons therefor ?MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS (SHRI NIHAL CHAND) (a) : The details of fertilizers plants/units, of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited ( IFFCO) are given below:- -2- (b) : Urea is the only fertilizer under statutory price control and it is imported for direct agriculture use on Government account through State Trading Enterprises ( STEs) i.e.To bridge the gap between farming community & industry and for development of surrounding villages, IFFCO Kalol Unit has carried out development activities in surrounding villages like organizing Eye Camps& Blood Donation Camp, providing Drinking water system, various facilities in schools, construction of Dhobi Ghats etc., construction of Toilets in schools & villages, construction of cattlesheds, providing practical training to farmers to improve their skills in crop & animal husbandry, organizing veterinary camps, farm mechanization, balance fertilization, use & distribution of bio-fertilisers, training for tailoring & embroidery, adult education programmes, fruits and vegetables preservation, etc, IFFCO Kalol has distributed computers to village schools, school bags to village students.Further, IFFCO Kalol has also distributed wheat, tiffin box, bed sheets to the labours.******* IFFCO Kalol is committed to contribute for the sustainable economic development of farmers, local community and Society at large to improve their quality of life.
MMTC Limited (MMTC) State Trading Corporation Limited ( STC) and Indian Potash Limited ( IPL) to bridge the gap assessed requirement/ demand and indigenous production .Government is also importing approximately 20 LMT urea Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) under Long Term Urea Off Take Agreement (UOTA) between GOI & OMIFCO.The Import of urea from OMIFCO is made through M/s IFFCO & M/s KRIBHCO .Fertilizers other than urea are imported under Open General Licence ( OGL).
